Simple Christmas Craft Ideas to Excite your Preschooler

1. Snowmen Christmas cards: Take a piece of construction paper, make a card and glue a cut-out of a snowman to the front. Next, after decorating the snowman, affix the poem (see below) underneath it, and add a small packet of hot chocolate, tea, or apple cider inside the card. Your child can give the snowman a cane by affixing a candy cane to the front of the card.

Poem: Here's some snowman soup for Christmas glow / Along with a stirring stick / Add hot water and sip it slow / Don't you know it'll always do the trick!

2. Christmas Wreath: Cut out the middle of a white paper plate and color the outer ring green. In groups of three, attach Cheerios to the wreath. After the glue is dry, take a paint brush and some red paint and dab it over the cheerios so they look like holly berries. Using glue, apply a gift bow to the lower portion of the wreath.

3. Milk Carton Gingerbread Houses: Supplies Required to complete this craft -- white cake icing (homemade or store bought); clean, empty 2L milk cartons; whole pieces of graham crackers. Decorations -- different candies, sprinkles, and other details.

Have all of your supplies ready, such as the decorations, candies, etc. in separate bowls. Make the white icing if you're not buying it from the store.

After cutting the milk carton in half width-wise, the next step is to staple the tops closed. Make one or two doors by cutting them out of the milk cartons. Using icing, attach the milk carton to a plate or a sheet of wax paper on cardboard. Spread icing onto the milk carton and press the crackers onto the carton to attach them. Repeat the process on the roof. Slice a graham cracker in half diagonally to form a triangle and attach it the same way to fill in the triangular the area between the sides and the roof.

As soon as you have attached the sides and roof, use icing to adhere the various decorations and candies to your house.
