Wedding Scrapbook - Creating a Wedding Scrapbook

A wedding scrapbook is unlike a wedding photo album. While a photo album is a great way to highlight the pictures taken at the wedding, a wedding scrapbook should cover the time leading up to the wedding as well as the wedding itself.

The following suggestions are only suggestions and nothing more. There is no wrong way to create a scrapbook. My goal is to give you some ideas for creating a wedding scrapbook.

Think about adding some childhood pictures of the bride and groom. You can add pictures of them from their childhood or teen years as well as photos of the couple when they were dating.

During the planning process, people look at banquet rooms, dresses, tuxedos, and invitations. You can take photos of all these parts of the planning process to add to your scrapbook. As long as the bridal shop allows it, it can be fun to take pictures of the bride while she is trying on her dresses.

After you choose a banquet room, take some photos of the room when it is empty. Take some pictures of the exterior of the building where the banquet room is.

Save a copy of your final menu, after the decision has been made. We actually made the hand-made menus for one event I helped with. We included a copy of our hand-made menu so that everyone would know what was being served. You should also save a copy of the invitation and the R.S.V.P. card, place card, thank you notes, guest list, candy bar wrapper or other favor for your scrapbook.

If you hire a DJ or a band, you can include their business cards or brochures in your scrapbook. If you choose to employ another type of entertainer, be sure to save a brochure and the person's business card.

Keeping a journal during your wedding planning can be a fun activity. There are always mishaps in the planning process, and it will be fun to look back at your thoughts about these upheavals at a later date.

As the R.S.V.P. cards arrive, you'll find that many people write personal notes on them. Hold on to those. Re-reading what people wrote is similar to reading the messages people left in your high school yearbook.

And now the big day is finally here. This is when you'll need to get the pictures you want for your wedding album and the scrapbook of your wedding.
