Trying to design an embroidery tote
Tuesday May 10th, 2005 04:29 PM
This is my rough design for an embroidery tote. The special boy and I are doing a lot of moving back and forth between houses this summer, and it would be nice to be able to just grab an embroidery project and go instead of having to find a plastic bag, pack, it, worry if stuff will fall out, get dirty, etcetera.
I'm looking for feedback on the design ... what do you think? Would this work, practially speaking? Am I missing space for anything?

looks very functioal i wouldn't mind having several of these for my smaller projects on the go cat123
I think that looks terrific-- my embroidery stuff is dreadfully tangled and in plastic bags like you said.
geez, you're good. I think you've got it covered.
that's great. I take it this q snap frame is what you use instead of a hoop?
Hi go-fish, yup, you can check out www.qsnap.com ... they are awesome - I use them for smaller projects and the scroll bars for larger projects.
thanks to all for the compliments - now I just have to sew it!
That is a fantastic idea! Whenever I haul my stuff around I end up poking my finger on a needle or the thread is tangled here and there and everywhere...please post pics when you finish sewing it up!
what a great idea. I had the same qsnap question, I am going to check that site out.
Are you planning to tie the scissors to the tote, instead of making a sany/loop to snap them in? Tying may get tricky after many uses.
Do you keep floss as is, or do you unwind onth spools?
I love your idea. Please post pics!
hey sewpunk - just saw your comments. What's a sany/loop?!?!
I unwind the floss onto little plastic organizer thingys . I do keep blending filament on spools, though.
