I spent the day felting again. I found my dad's secret stash of soap. He's been hoarding quite a few little round bars of hotel soap. I realised they were perfect for making soap in felted jackets. They're round so I decided to make them look like cookies. I made chocolate macaroons, jam thumbprints, jam sandwiches, and an ugly little chocolate frosted one. It's way in the back of the pic :P
I'm going to put them all in a cookie jar and place them by the sink.
On the business side, I've made a couple of felted keychains for a consignment shop in koen-ji. They turned out pretty well. The beads I got from a people tree so they're fairtrade and plus, they cost a lot less than the beads at the craft store.
So I made this lil' guy from roving and needle felting. It turned out to be lots of fun and I only stabbed my finger once :P The flower is crochet. I made a flower and beetle hair tie for a swap on glitter and afterwards decided to make one for myself too. So here he is.
I've been in over my head in work related stuff but finally I had time to go to the fabric store today. You will not believe the cute stuff I found. They had a whole bunch of vintage inspired fabrics for sale. I picked up this one
The best thing is, none of the labels overlap. So you can just cut out the ones you want to use. I think it looks a little crowded the way it is now so I'm planning to cut it up and use it as patches on some of the bags I'm working on. But also I'm saving a wee bit for a small clutch or something. I love vintage sewing stuff in general so I'm crazy about this fabric.
Next week I'm going back for a ruler design I saw today (but was out of dough) And I'll probably turn that in to and A-line skirt or something.
