Flat hat
Thursday June 30th, 2005 07:48 AM
I've been seeing these caps all around Tokyo this summer and I really wanted one. Well, I could've bought one, but they cost so much and I remembered seeing a knit one last winter and the boy said I should knit one like that. Well, at the time I said no, it's too hard but well...
I tried fiddling around working out a pattern and it turns out this cap isn't too hard after all!

hanging out..

Oops! I am so lazy about weaving in loose ends. Need to take care of that but at least the design worked out and I am so proud!!

I missed you!

I've been having a really busy week. I didn't post this here at first because I felt this was a craft blog but anyway, I didn't want to just disappear with out a wordso here goes. My dad was hospitalised early last week and they found two tumors in his brain. He's been in there since and my mom has to go stay with him , so I've been taking over for her around the house, and doing hospital duty some nights so she can have a break. It's not as bad as it sounds though and I've found some bright sides. I've had time to sit and really talk with dad, something we haven't done for years. And also I got shit loads of knitting done sitting up with him at nights.

But I really really miss all of you!

I made a lot of progress on the site today. Even though I had to sit here on my ass for upwards of 8 hours just ckicking on the computer. But the pictures of the products are up and I've fixed the links on the links page. I still can't figure out how to add the 'add to cart button from paypal. It breaks up my layout! Look and see on the teacup monster page, there's a gap right up in the menu. Has anyone got some advice?

ch ch ch check it out

And this is what I found this morning!!!
monster in my tea!!

I'm serious guys. Stale left over tea is a breeding ground for various felt monsters. Take a look at what came out of a small amount of red bush tea.

pinky peeking

Dangerous stuff I'm telling you...

I came up with an idea for felted button rings last night and cooked up a batch
soft knuckle
(It's obvious from the above pic that I am a dork who doesn't know how to wear rings so they are right side up :P Oh well!)
There's more but I finished them when it was already dark and I couldn't get good pictures. So instead here's a couple of close ups of the ones in the top pic.

I've worked out how to upload and link pages so that they show up on the screen and connect to each other. I've been on the computer so long my eyes feel like they're rolling in opposite directions from one another. But at least the site is up :[ There's no pics of the stuff yet, I've got to do a products photo shoot first. That'll be tomorrow. Right now I'm off to go read my new books that arrived from amazon today, and have a big snack :D I feel better already!
