Mini Gingerbread Houses
Thursday December 22nd, 2005 12:05 AM
So.. this year I didn't have a lot of time to make gifts (I ended up buying most of my gifts) but I did want to make something for all my coworkers.

It took me about 3-4 hours to bake. I used this recipe, doubled it, rolled the dough thinner and baked for half the time. It made 20 gingerbread houses.

About 1 1/2 hours to assemble

This was my first "set" that I decorated. My boyfriend already ate his, which was the one in the middle

A quarter for size comparison - the quarter is resting on the gingerbread house on the right

A village!

I put the person's initial on the back too

Boxed and almost ready to go!
Boxes are from The Container Store in medium

It smells so good when you open the boxes

happy birthday to me!

I've been thinking about things I want to make the dog - a pet sling so I don't have to carry him 24/7 when we go places, plus it would be nice to be able to carry a toy or two, some treats, and my wallet/keys/phone. I also want to make him a cover for his crate since it'll be colder where we're traveling for Thanksgiving.

The sweet lil guy is sleeping behind my chair right now :)

I've also discovered I'm going to have a nephew! The baby shower is going to be the week after Thanksgiving and I won't be in town for it - so I've decided to knit the baby a blanket. We'll see how it goes!

Yesterday the neighbors made me food for my birthday today - yum! :) And today my boyfriend made me breakfast. :)

I actually meant to cilkscreen this but i didn't because I'm having trouble with the photo emulsion, so this is technically a stencil - which is why it's a bit messy. I cannot for the life of me find freezer paper anywhere!!!

OMG, it GLOWS IN THE DARK!

Close up of the glow

Hi me! As you can see, I spilled some paint on the front of the hoodie - I haven't decided exactly what I want to put on the front yet - any ideas?

And guess what I bought yesterday?

AS IF! I can never get enough of this movie. <3

I went thrift shopping again :)

This is from the same store that I bought the Canonet from. It was orignally tagged at $59.95 and was 75% off because it was a blue tag sale. The other SLR cameras they had were all priced at $75 - I think this one was cheaper cause they didn't think it worked. The lens it came with (28-80mm Quarantary) was definitely broken, but I went home, slapped on the 50mm that I had that belonged to my broken AE-1 - put in a new battery and it's good as new :) I'm waiting for the other cameras to go on sale - I'm such a camera junkie :)

It's made of wool and I live in Southern California and I don't know how often I'll be using this, but I couldn't pass it up! It's a little big on me, but it's not so noticable unless I zip it up.

I'm planning on using these as belts or head ties. I think the original price was $2.75 each, but the lady just rang it all up togther. :)

I love plaid wool skirts

I need to get myself a record player

These next two were actually from a year or so ago, but I had them in my car for the longest time.

One of my favorite movies ever
