crochet snowflakes

These are fun to make. Quick, easy or tricky as you want, and more useful than a doily. Most are from a 99 Snowflakes Liesure Arts booklet I found at a craft store a few years back. One of them is from the December 2002 Martha Stewart.

Those are nice! Years ago, my mom made a lot of those for our xmas trees. she starched 'em w/sugar water, I think, but I myself would probably use the liquid starch stuff I have laying around my house. You did a a great job on all of them. thanks for sharing.

I added a link to some patterns. There are a bunch around and about.

I starched mine with fabric stiffener I found at Michaels (to his credit, the stock boy didn't bat an eye when I asked for help finding Stiffy). You can also use watered down white glue. They actually look pretty bad before you starch and block them. The book I used has little templates to help pin them out on a cork board to dry to get the shapes all nice.
