Anklet Measurements.
Q: Could someone tell me the measurements for adult male and female anklets?
A: Well, I'm not positive Brenda, but I think female ankle bracelets usually come in 8" and 9". Get out the tape measure ladies - I make bracelets in 6,6.5 & 7 inch sizes. Anklets start at 9", and go to 11. That's female sizes - guys I can't help you with. Could you find a handy volunteer? Sorry, but I just had to comment on the bracelet sizes. As a 'larger' woman, I find that the 7 inch bracelet is a bit too small for comfortable wear. I have often wished that jewelry designers would include a few larger 7.5 and 8 lengths for those of us whose wrists are larger. Nothing makes a larger woman's hand look truly 'pudgy' than trying to squeeze into a 7 inch bracelet, or wearing a watch band designed for a 7 inch type wrist and straining in the last hole to fit the larger wrist. I have spent several weeks trying to find a suitable 'leather' strap for a 'Lorus' gold 'Mickey Mouse' watch with little success. The associates in the stores that carry replacement bands say they get a lot of requests, but cannot help. It seems that the size I need falls at the low end for a man's width, and the upper end for the woman's width. Longer bands are not normally carried in that particular mm width. Frustrating! Point taken, but it's very hard to keep every style I make in every possible size! My ususal solution (at a fair) is to bring all the tools and beads w/ me and offer to custom size most things on the spot. A piece of "extender" chain w/ an extra split ring is a good quick fix (and one that might work for you on bought bracelets - not on watchbands though!). Just for the record - I'm one of those people who can wear a 6" bracelet - I have to continually remember to make things too big for me! I also have a small wrist, and I usually try on things as I'm making them. I usually do random beading though, and by the time I've gotten the strands to be the same length, sometimes the bracelet gets much longer. The longer ones do sell though. Even up to 8 inches. Just to mention, I saw a picture of Michael Keaton wearing an ankle bracelet made of trade beads in an old issue of In 'Style' magazine. He was sockless and wearing loafers.
