Beaded Flowers On Thread, Not Wire???

Q: I'm looking for books or instructions for three-dimensional beaded flowers which use thread, not wire. I'm sure I can alter some of the wire patterns for my needs, but there must be thread patterns out there, too.

A: There are a couple such projects at beadwork.about.com - 'Daffodil', 'Wisteria', 'Iris', maybe others. Just search the 'projects' index. Check the 'Lark Books' site - I believe they had some Japanese Beading books available. http://www.larkbooks.com The link provided to about.com was a good one, but I'm really looking for a more 3-D, less peyote-stitch type of thing, like they used to do on sweaters in the '40s and '50s, and on hats and things.
