Needing Resources.

Q: I am interested in doing fiber (tapestry) weaving incorporating beads into the weavings. Does anyone have any resources for this? I have been looking for months, and have not been able to locate any books, articles, etc. Any and all help would be appreciated.

A: The best resource I know of for bead and fiber weaving is a book called "Beads and Threads: A New Technique for Fiber Jewelry", by 'Diane Fitzgerald' and 'Helen Banes' - ISBN 0-9620543-6-4. Even if one isn't particularly interested in fiber weaving, this book is a MUST HAVE. The photographs are exceptional and the designs inspirational!!! You are looking for needle weaving or pin-weaving. The book previously mentioned ("Beads & Threads" by 'Helen Banes' & 'Diane Fitzgerald' is excellent). I carry a line of pin-weaving supplies by Warp & Woof Creations. They manufacture a line of pin-weaving kits (doll brooches, mini amulet bags, earrings) along with the fibers, needles, pins to create your own designs. They have also written two books: Warped Women & Material Men and The Fine Art of Pin-Weaving. This isn't much help, but I saw a book about that at my local Barnes & Noble. I live in Bowling Green, KY, but I bet that all B&N's probably carry just about the same titles. Unfortunately, it was many months ago and I can't remember the title or author. You might check out their webpage and conduct a search.
