Purse Frames.

Q: I love to do loomed beaded purses, and have made a couple from the Japanese loom beading books. The problem is, I don't like the frames that are available. The books have beautiful decorative ones, but of course, I can't find them out here. 'Lacy's' has some, but they are a little too plain for my taste. Does anyone have a source?

A: 'Fire Mountain Gems' in Oregon has about a dozen different purse frames. You can reach them at: 1-800-423-2319 Nice people to deal with. Ask them to send you a catalog. A source you may want to try is 'Kari Me Away' (www.karimeaway.com). They stock some lovely embellished purse frames in various sizes. Just click to enter the sight, and follow the link to purse frames. I personally haven't done business with this company, but a friend has had a positive experience with them. Secondly, you may want to search many of the auction sites at once by going to auctionwatch.com, and using their universal search engine using the key words "purse frame" or something similar. This should give you results for several auction sites, including 'Amazon' and 'eBay'. The heavily embellished and jeweled purse frames tend to sell for quite substantial amounts.
