    Book blogs

    Hi,
I'm a longtime lurker here lured out by the smell of a book-related section. It's so great to have a book section on getcrafty again. I just started up a website devoted to book reviews as well as a personal blog.

I'm looking for links to book-obsessed blogs (or livejournals!) like my own, librarian blogs, or just readers who like to talk about the books they're reading. I read a variety of books. I'm trying to get away from my usual mystery picks, so there should be a little bit of everything plus plenty of mysteries on there.

I hope you enjoy the site!

Hey I was reading your blog today. I talk a lot about books on my livejournal.

    It's http://www.livejournal.com/users/blue_lotus

I also post on chicklit.com, as lex, of course.

I'm going to work on the site a bit this weekend, so I'll add you then. I must say I am extremely envious of your belly-dancing classes. Have you noticed a difference in your stomach? I always wanted a belly-dancer stomach.

I'm going to try to keep different links on the pages. I'm adding a writing section to the webpage, would you prefer to be linked that way as a free-lancer, or stick to my book blog?

And I know there are others out there. I'm a shy linker, so if you have an online book journal, let me know. Or a writing site too. I try to leave nice comments unless I'm really tired. I'm so glad that Lex posted. I was feeling like a giant advertisement ad, or one of those bad "ads" by big commercial sites that everyone ignores in the "visit my crafty website" section of this site.

No way!! I had a look at your website and it's very cool. I consider it one of my finds of the week! Your site introduced me to two other excellent places too, which I have been busy checking out (past my bedtime) - CDBaby and Chicklit. Thankyou.

I have to say that this comment has given me a good laugh. I love to look at those posts (ads) when they get put up - I look at them 2 or 3 times just to make the number of views go really high while the number of posts stays a big fat zero. I love the way they get barred and frozen out by a great big visual silence - it's like a silent getcrafty protest against commercialism!

    And so to bed.

I love your site! The look of it + the content. Very nice. Plus you link to Chicklit AND Bookslut, so you win. Hee.

I keep track of the books I read at goodenglish.blogspot.com , but there are no pics or anything so it's sort of boring; it's there mostly so I remember what I read.

(Off-topic, but how are you liking Appetites? I tried to get into it, but couldn't. But I only read ten or so pages.)

Thanks everyone! The design is thanks to a fabulous crafty booklover at Tart Designs. There's no way I could create something like that myself.

Moon-lemming: What do I win? Hopefully not another copy of Appetites.
I filed it under the category of "In the middle of", but it should be under "only finished four pages". I'm not enjoying it either. But I vowed to keep up with the book club, so I can get away from my usual girl detective novels. I recently finished "Away" by Jane Urquhart", another old bookclub selection which I really struggled with. But when I got to the end of it, I had a great feeling of accomplishment. That's what I'm aiming for with this book.

I do have a problem with the way my book looks that I bought off Chapters. I think it might be the font settings. She has some long paragraphs, and I find myself losing my place in the text. I did enjoy Knapp's description of her disasterous helping of cottage cheese, though, on page three. Ick.

I have to do a big upgrade to the site this weekend, so I'll add you then. If you don't see yourself up, email me or remind me on here. I have a truly crappy memory, so i totally understand the "remember what you read" theory.

Ha! Then we would both win, because it wouldn't be sitting on my bookshelf any more. I'm glad I'm not the only one who can't get into the thing. It looked like such a good idea, too.

Oh sorry I took so long to reply. I do not have an amazing belly dancer stomach, even though my doctor says it was pretty good. (That was a couple years ago).

Please feel free to link me wherever you want. I talk about a lot of things, so I don't mind :)

literaryvamp, I love your site! :)

And I like reading bookblogs of any kind, so all the links are much appreciated.

There was a 100 books or 100 reviews site that I liked, but I lost the link, so I guess that wasn't too helpful.

oh, and I would like a bellydancer's stomach, too! My doctor hasn't complimented me on mine.
