    bibliophil.org: catalog your library

I was going to put this in the chainreading.com topic but decided to give it its own thread -- you can catalog your entire library on line, review them, star them, sort them, etc. and you can add "buddies" and go through their libraries and recommend books to them or whatever.

    http://bibliophil.org

it's pretty cool, it was mentioned on chicklit.com and I've been going through my booklog adding books to my bibliophil library off and on ever since then. it's what I've been doing for the past hour, actually.

the layout's a little clumsy and there are a few bugs, but they're working on them.

(I swear I'm not a bibliophil pimp, hee.)

At first when I saw the spelling of the site's name, I thought maybe it was related somehow to Dr. Phil, like maybe he was doing a book club like Oprah did.

holy crap, can you imagine the many ways in which that would be wrong and unnatural and forbidden by god? shudder.

eta: I just changed the subject to make it a little less confusing, hee. :P

it took me a while to find out what the link was to my own library, but you just have to go to Spread the Word and it's at the bottom of the page

I've had a Bibliophil account for maybe a year now, and I love the site. Most of the current bugs are due to the owner changing servers recently. The administrators are really good about fixing problems though.

I tried the free trial of Readerware and I liked it, but not enough to spend so much money on it, especially now that there's a site like Bibliophil.

BTW, here's the link to my Bibliophil library: http://bibliophil.org/library/UserLi...hp?userid=1766

Moon_lemming, for some reason, Bibliophil has you listed on my pending list and on my buddy list, but on the buddy list, it says declined. When I clicked on the link in my email, it said I had declined you too and all I did was click on the link, I didn't even get to the approve or decline screen yet. So I guess some of the buddy bugs are still there.
