Carnet Eat Good Food Guide to Dining in Best Restaurants from DineLA

Travel with Carnet brings you the best LA Restaurant Guide where top critics, such as Jonathan Gold, eat. Out of the 250 Los Angeles restaurants that are offering Lunch for $20 and dinner for $35 during Dine L A Restaurant week, only 12 are among the 2013 Jonathan Gold 101 Best restaurants. Additional finds can be found on the up and coming release of restaurants in the LA Guide on TravelwithCarnet . The Carnet take on dining calls for both fine food served beautifully and elegant décor, and that combination makes a memorable experience. The recommended list is edited to the Westside and Downtown and does not cover restaurants from North Hollywood to Manhattan Beach and from the San Gabriel Valley to Reseda.

Jonathan Gold, the first food critic to have won the Pulitzer price (2007) publishes every year the 101 Best Restaurants of Los Angeles. Carnet values Gold’s opinion about fine dining in Dine La Restaurant Week. His 12 picks are truly delicious. If you find yourself in Melrose, you’ll come across 3 great restaurants. Lucques is contemporary Mediterranean restaurant where you can enjoy your meal on the charming patio along with a superb wine list. Jar is where you;ll find your favorite comfort foods prepapared with the finest culinary expertise. Then there is Comme Ca, a French brasserie where you’ll feel as if you’ve just dined in Paris.

If you are looking for the most contemporary in contemporary Spanish cuisine, molecular cuisine inspired by celebrity chef Jose Andres’ mentor Ferran Adria you will love The Bazaar. This fantastically decorated establishment, by Philippe Stark, is located in the Hotel SLS in Beverly Hills. Next stop is in West LA with Sotto and Picca which happen to be located in the same building, even better! Sotto is southern Italian cuisine at its best with Sunday as its day for special dishes and Picca is the one of the best example of contemporary Peruvian cuisine in North America.

From here we move into the Downtown LA area. You can find Mexican and contemporary latino american restaurants such as Border Grill and Rivera. If you are more in the mood for Italian, you can check out Drago Centro that serves traditional Italian food at its best. Now if you really want to try something different, there is modern Vietnamese cuisine and grilled Singaporean specialties at The Spice Table right in the middle of Little Tokyo. They serve unique food, hardly ever found in North America. Last but not least, there is Post and Beam which serves African American dishes. The smoked baby backs and the fried chicken are enough to take you at of your way to Baldwin Hills!
