I just bought a silicone pastry brush...great for spreading olive oil on pita bread...etc.. and I also love my silicone spatulas... lately with the cold weather I have been using my ikea milk frother for hot chocolates..chai...all my mixed hot beverages... What are some of your kitchen gadgets that you can't live without?

i love my silicone spatula, too. however, my favorite kitchen utensil is my tongs! i have two! i also love my citrus reamer. now i get ALL of the juice out of a lemon half without killing my hand.

my cheese grater is the best! i grate veggies like sqash and zuchinni(sp?) for pasta's and blocks of chocolate for fancy looking deserts...not to mention block cheese is much cheaper and works out your biceps!

My Silpat. I absolutely love it. I use it for cookies, and I rest pies on it when they are baking. I've used it for meringues. I also love my toaster oven (it keeps the apartment from getting too hot) and my French press coffee maker.

I love my zester. i've been making orange liqueurs lately and it is so much easier to grate the orange peel. I also love my old fashioned manual juicer. I love the act of getting physical with my food.

Definitely tongs. You can never have too many. (I never seem to have enough!)

My favorite is the little $0.59 citrus peeler so I don't have to get bits of orange or grapefruit rind under my fingernails!

Mesh tea infuser.

And, just because I don't have one, a large plastic (well, probably melamine) spoon. I used it all the time when cooking, but it recently broke in a scones dough incident. Haven't been able to find a new one yet (which could be due to the fact that I never get around to going to the kitchen supplies shop...).

I like IKEAs 3-pack of wooden cooking utensils, too.

My iron skillets are my BABIES. I use them all of the time and care for them obsessively. Also, I love my wooden spoons! AND MY BOWL COLLECTIONS! Pyrex, Fire King, etc etc...

I'm old fashioned about my kitchen utensils. I don't have many new-fangled tools, but I use what I have to death.
