I'd say Joanne's and Michael's are good. Ebay and Amazon are good for online shopping.

Joanne's and michael's and places like that are ridiculously overpriced, but if you need an item NOW, they'll do. If you print the coupons online from hobby lobby, then put the app on your phone, you can get supplies at super low rates. Also, whenever I really need something not available to the average shopper, I check on Amazon, and compare it to other art supplies costs. Jerrysartarama online is good, and I've bought also from CheapJoe's. There's really an endless amount of suppliers online, that aren't scammers. I suppose in the end, it's going to depend on what you're looking for, your budget and how fast you need it. We have very few fie art suppliers in my area, so I understand how frustrating it can be.

The internet is king. Depending on what you are looking for, you can find specialty sites all over the place. For example, The Ribbon Retreat focuses almost strictly on ribbon, Thoughts In Vinyl does wooden letters and vinyl crafts, and so on. There are specialty sites for beads, sewing, holidays, and anything you can think of. If their prices are not up to par, there is always a competitor to try. Just my opinion.
Home is where the craft is!
