Which is a better sewing machine? Singer or brother? Or others?

I have a portable Brother BM2600 sewing machine, so far I'm happy with how it works for me, but I'm so worried whenever I try to sew denim fabric on this machine. It sounds like struggling, so I just use my mom's JUKI industrial machine for sewing denim fabrics and other thick fabrics.

I wonder if how SINGER portable sewing machine works for denim and thick fabrics, any ideas? I would love to hear your opinions because I love using portable sewing machine so I could work anywhere in the house.
