    Bike to Beat Bush

    Hi Craftistas,
This Sunday, July 25, join and support politically-minded cyclists* who want to make a difference in the November election by raising money and awareness on a bike ride through New York City.

If you can't participate, you can still SPONSOR ME - just send me a private message or email me directly.

*bladers and non-riding volunteers are welcome

Bike to Beat Bush plans to raise $50,000 for two organizations powerfully committed to policy change. As a sponsor, your donation will go directly to the organization of your choice:

    Swing State Summer Break
A 100% volunteer-operated, grassroots organization aimed at defeating Bush in November. SSSB works as a travel agency against Bush. People sign up to donate time and SSSB plugs those people in with progressive organizations registering voters in swing states. SSSB subsidizes travel
and lodging costs for volunteers who need it.

    United for Peace and Justice
    UFPJ's main goals are:
*To promote public opposition to the occupation in Iraq and U.S. support for the Israeli occupation of Palestine.
*To defend civil liberties and immigrant rights; working to repeal policies that erode rights, including the USA PATRIOT ACT.
*To make peace and justice issues central to the election year debate.
*To counter military recruitment in schools.
*To work for the elimination of nuclear weapons and other weapons of mass destruction.

For more information on how to get involved as a rider or volunteer call 212-971-1989 or e-mail deptofpeace@yahoo.com. For FAQs and route information visit http://www.eefers.com/bike.htm

    Thanks y'all!
    Yours in peace and craft,
    Leigh
