    crafty ideas for art fundraiser

    Hi crafty folks-
I am helping a friend of mine that works with adults with developmental disabilities come up with craft projects that her clients can sell to raise funds for their art program. So far, I have thought of bird baths created from terra cotta pots that the clients can paint and decorate, bottle cap magnets, and toad abodes (essentially a clay pot turned upside down and decorated). We are trying to do Spring like things because that is when they will be selling them. Perhaps we could also help them decorate some greeting cards to sell.

Do any of you have any great ideas? I need to keep it relatively simple as I don't know the abilities of the individuals and I believe we only have 2 hours to complete the projects. Maybe more, but I am not certain.

Any ideas would be greatly appeciated!!!! THANKS!

I don't know what kind of budget you have for start up costs, but paintings (or other 2-dimensional pieces or photos of their 3-D projects) could be reprinted and sold as notecard sets.

Art on the front and a little blurb about the organization on the back?

    Hi,
Depending on the skill level of your client, there are tons of things you could do in a 2 hour time frame. Expanding on flowerpot theme, they could paint, decoupage, embellish clay pots and plant some flowers in them.

Another idea is to use clear glass flat marbles and cut out simple pictures, glue on and then add a magnet or push pin.

If you could get hold of a button machine, they could make buttons or magnets.

You could paint, decoupage, add ribbons, buttons, sequins, seashells, etc. picure frames.

In the paper arena, maybe you could make bookmarks or cute little tags.

You may want to check out Oriental Traders. I use their wood items a lot in my craft classes.

That''s off the top of my head. Hope these ideas are useful to you.
