Central Illinois Crafty-Type Group
I have been trying to set up a craft/d.i.y. type group based in Champaign, but can't find many people interested. Most folks seem to want to focus on one type of project, but I do everything from jewelry-making to reconstructing clothes to crocheting. Anyone in my area interested in trying new things?

laurabee,
Count me in! I'm in Champaign as well, and would love to meet up with other crafters. I'm also a dabbler in a lot of different crafts (knitting, sewing, quilting, crocheting...you name it, I'll try it) and would love to learn more!

I live in Springfield, Illinois and I have never had many crafty friends, so I'm interested.

craftiness in central IL?
It'd be great to get together -- I'm in Bloomington, not that far from Champaign/Urbana. How about at the Barnes & Noble off of the highway, or one of the coffee shops in downtown Champaign?

I am so excited to see this! I am in Champaign and would love to meet crafty friends! I mostly sew (clothing, home stuff, fun stuff) but also knit, paint, origami, do a little bit of everything. I have a couple of freinds would also love to form some sort of crafting group. I would be happy to help organize/host such a group, at least in the beginning stages, my house is only so big.

Man I posted like FIVE times when I moved here last year and no one replied. I am in Urbana. I am totally up for it! I don't care what we do. We could always have a Naked Lady Party, or just have everyone bring something different and hang out over coffee or something.
Ha nanette, I bet I know you!

I just wanted to update this thread with the info about the group we started. We have a yahoo group here:

We meet at volunteer hosts' houses and craft up a storm!
