Are "pets" a part of your family?

I have always considered my dogs and cats to be part of my family. They are not just pets to me. I have birthdays for them (get them gifts and treats), they celebrate the holidays with us, and I include them in anything I can family wise. I know some people don't feel this way and just view them as an addition to the family. My boys and girl are like my kids. Not in the sense that I treat them human, but care for them like there were my own (if that makes sense).

    How do you view "pets"?

What a stupid question. Pets like cats and dogs are a part of my family.

I love my pets as I love the other family members, though we don't celebrate any special dates.
