    Burglar-proof your home

We had a break-in in our neighbourhood. Though nobody was harmed and nothing was taken it broke the sense of security we had in the neighbourhood before. I am thinking about burglar proofing my home. While doing some research online I came across a blog that mentioned tips on how to burglar-proof your home. One of the tips mentioned was getting motion sensor lights along with an alarm monitoring system. I would like to get that installed. What are the best motion sensors available in the market right now? I am not looking for anything too expensive. Just a simple, basic one would do.
