I know the original poster already had the garage sale, but had an idea about something someone mentioned.

Displaying CDs. have them in old shoe-boxes in groups depending on the type of music - standing up and leaning back so people can flip through them rather than a stack that can fall over. It's would be pretty easy to straighten up too.

I definitely say price everything too. I hate asking what something costs - and then when they ask me what I'd pay. I'm not a big yard sale person and I HATE bargaining!

My experience has been that unless it is dirt cheap people will not pay no matter how cute or the condition. I honestly think that 2-3 dollars for the outfits is too much. Of course it depends on where you live too. The cost of living isnt high where I'm at so it may be different here.

yeah, cost of living is really low here, but tons of tourists will be coming thru the area this weekend.... figured i'd kinda do a sliding scale with pricing.... is that messed up?

I'm retiring from the yard sale business! I made $150 which is always welcome but I'm not sure it's worth it anymore. It's a lot of hours of prep work and then some of the people are so crazy rude. To be fair others are lovely, and I always end up just giving stuff to a couple of cool people who roll through. But some folks look like they'd like to poke me in the eye because I won't come down that last quarter. I don't need your quarter old lady, I'll gocco that into a shirt to wear if I ever do another of these beasts. I'm trying to rant but I too freaking tired and hot.

Right now I'm thinking dinner at a greek restaurant. That and Sally #$#&@@# Mae, pretty much.
I'm still drained, getting old I suppose.
