Need ideas for Old Shower Curtain Liners

Greetings. Does anyone have any ideas for reusing/crafting with an old plastic shower curtain liner? I usually throw 'em in the wash and reuse 'em but the last time I did this, it tore in a number of places and I really don't want to throw it in the trash if i don't have to.
I'm open to anything - let me know your ideas.

Outter lining for a beach/pool tote! Fabric inside, vinyl outside. Cute and waterproof!;)

I use them for splat mats for art projects with my son (the rips would work against you there!) or you could cut it up and use it in projects as you would other vinyl, to make snap cuffs - assuming it's clear vinyl:

    good luck!

Thanks for the ideas. I especially like the tote. I'm thinking of maybe doing little coin purses with it too, I just want to use it for something that will be used instead of it sitting in a landfill.

I hear ya! Last week, I came up with this idea of sewing pockets (cut from the old clear vinyl shower curtain) onto a piece of fabric that would hang on the wall in my kitchen. Inside the pockets I could insert all those things I have to remember to do. You know, bills to pay and things to call about, my husband's keys/phone/badge, the checkbook. I needed a place to put things that was
    1. out of the kids' reach
    2. not HIDING the items I needed to remember
    3. in plain view of me and attractive enough to put in a highly visible place.

My one problem is getting off ALL of the water spots, which is why I'm only using it in projects I make for myself.

Wow you guys all had great ideas! I especially like the children's painting smock idea (those cost like $30 to buy) and the kitchen reminder idea ...

A friend of mine had a raincoat that was made from an old vinyl tablecloth - if you could cut "around" the rips that might be an idea ...

I also thought it might be cool for doing backing on cloth placemats, to make clean-up easier. Just sew some nice cloth on the front, maybe bias tape or piping around the age, and voila! After all the vinyl does ok in the washer and you can just hang to dry.

make sure to post your projects, whatever you choose to make!
