i was thinking of doing throw pillows for their bedroom which is... hunter green?
thank you for all the ideas... i knit, sew, collage, etc... so i could very easily do something crafty, it's more just knowing what would be appropriate or a good idea. i know at the bridal shower only about 4 people got something off of their registry... so i know she'd like something that would actually go with their apartment colors
thank you, again!

All these are great ideas!
When we got married, I loved getting gifts that would help us remember the day, like picture frames, Christmas ornaments that had the date of our wedding, etc. The custom christmas stockings are a great idea! Also something for the honeymoon would be nice, like his/her robes or fun bath stuff.
Yay for getting married!

This reply is perhaps a little to late, but maybe you can use this idea for a next wedding. I got Married last year and my sisters and parents made us a beatiful book. It is our favorite gift we got on our wedding day.
It is very inexspensive and sooooo pesonal. And so nice to read. It makes you feel very special.
They printed several questions on a a-4 paper. Questions like:
Name:
age:
Love status:
When did you meet (name of bride) the first time and what did you think
When did you meet (name of groom) the first time and what did you think
What music reminds you of (name of bride and groom)
What do you wish the bride and groom
Well and perhaps you can think of your own questions.
They (secretly) spread these sheets on our wedding day and collected them afterwards, to bind them. We recieved the book after our honeymoon.
You bind all these sheets together in a map or paste them afterwards in a nice album.
The best gift ever!

If you are buying her china, and if it's fancy china, something that I would have loved to have received and could be easily crafted is storage cushions for fine china. At my wedding I received my husband's grandmother's wedding china which is beautiful, but I live in fear of breaking it. I currently pack it in bubble wrap (not pretty but safe), but I remember seeing an idea for crafting felt spacers to cushion each piece - maybe it was a martha stewart thing. But it would be a nice thing to have (maybe I'll make some for myself) even if it's just cutting out circles of felt for between each plate, saucer, etc. that she will recieve. Or you can go more involved and do those storage cases that are like cylinders of felt that you place china in with a zippered lid (should be fairly easy to make - two circles a little bigger than her plates with a rectangle piece between them the same circumference) you could use felt or a quilted fabric and then personalize with initials or cloth cut-outs etc. I would love such a gift!

I like to give journals/albums at weddings, inspired by something my husband and I do. On the front page of the journal, my husband and I write a personal note to the couple and suggest using the journal to write out an ever-expanding of things the way to do/experience together (eg, visit Paris, go scuba diving, join a kayaking club, etc.). It's a great way to keep in touch with each other about little goals and an excellent motivator when you need to get out of the house and just have some together time. Then, after you've crossed something off on the list, you flip the book over or backwards and each write up a memory of what you did.
I absolutely love our book like this, both the things it has inspired us to do and the memories it holds for us (everything from camping trips to my husband's first banana split).
