How to fix a snagged zipper?

My daughter's (expensive) backpack has a zipper firmly snagged on one side of its fabric "lip". I'm sure there's a method or mode of repair that won't need me purchasing an expensive kit or tracking down a repair shop. I just did a search on google, about and ask.coms, and didn't come up with anything. Maybe I didn't phrase the question right....

    Any Answers? Directions? Comments? Laughter?

You know what, I wish I could help you
My favorite little black skirt did the same thing when I was on my break for work
Only it snagged and then opened, so I had a huge-ass hole in the side of my skirt.
I had to buy a new one.
Eventually, after a lot of wriggling it around, my mom got it back to a wearable state
And then I wore it again and it shitted out on me.
I will stalk this thread like so much stale bread.

The new Real Simple says that pencil lead will unstick a zipper, although that doesn't help you with the fabric caught in it!

I was thinking that rubbing soap or a bit of wax over it a few times might lubricate it and make it easier to unzip.

I'll try the pencil lead and the soap/wax deal. That might lubricate the fabric enough for the zipper head to slide over it... thanks, guys!

Soooooo.... I picked up my daughter's backpack, armed with soap and lead, and discovered....

that my husband had gotten to it first and fixed it.

I have no idea how he did it.

    Whatever. My daughter is thrilled.

Sorry, folks. I was really hoping to give youse all a good report!

i can usually work the fabric out by wiggling it back and forth and pulling it out of the zipper slide. i had a sleeping bag once that was constantly getting the fabric jammed into the zipper, so i got practice. sometimes you can also back the zipper off of the fabric, or pull it all the way over. i think the graphite/soap/wax trick only works if the zipper is actually sticky, not if there is fabric stuck in it.

For me it's better to get new one. If you don't have money for this, you may get money here dploans247
