Redecorating the kitchen and looking for furniture and wallpaper ideas before I start spending some serious dollar! Looking at a geographical theme, with plenty of foreign foods to be cooked in there, so I felt it was appropriate. Would appreciate any ideas or suggestions thanks

Put it on one of the walls you mean? I suppose wood floors and countertops would go well with the vintage look.

I was going to say the same thing.... forget paint, maybe just an accent. But, I would go with wood through out the kitchen. Very chic and also very retro, would go great with vintage maps.

I also love to cook so I decorated my kitchen with red and yellow colored home wallpaper. It's more fun than paint!

I like the vintage world map idea you have going, how would it work underneath the cabinets on the kitchen walls, are you just going to repeat the map over and over or stretch it across? I was thinking it might be cool to have the same color and style but separate the different continents and countries throughout the walls and then have one area where the map is completed together. This will also serve as a really awesome geography reference.

I have used it as one feature wall and it has worked really well, I also a few vintage pieces that matched really well with the colour scheme. Would recommend anyone to go for the vintage look gives it such a warm homely feel.
