Cleaning grout between tiles.

Does any one have any secrets other than good old fashion elbow grease to clean the grout between the tiles. I have white tiles in the kitchen with white grout and it is a all day process to clean the grout.

I'd love a tip about this too! Is it possible to pre-treat? Keeping away stains and such?

I do know they make a sealant (spelling?) to put on the grout after it is clean. I just have not been brave enough to try the sealant. I need to get the grout clean enough for me to do that.

There's an "All-Purpose Cleaning Pad" (I believe that's what the name of the product is) that is good for jobs like that.

I think bleach is a good idea but I have carpet next to the kitchen I do not want to take a chance of ruining the carpet plus the toothbrush is the good old fashioned elbow grease I was talking about.
