Moving across the country
*sigh* After a year and a half on the East coast I'm finally ready to move back home. I have to get rid of my car, though.
Anyone have a good/bad experience selling their car to Carmax or dealership that they will share? I want to know what to expect before going in.
Thanks!

I moved across the country 4 months ago and sold my car before I did as well. I didn't sell it to a dealership, though. I just sold it through the local Auto Trader. It was a good experience, I've done it before, and I think you get more $$ if you sell it privately vs. dealer but it also depends on your timelines. Good luck!

I sold my car to a dealership. I suggest trying to sell it privately first. You will probably get more for it.

I'm actually moving from Maryland to Arizona, and can't get someone to drive with me, which is why I'm selling it. If you were in Virginia, I'd say sure!
The car is a 2003 Civic, I think I may come out barely ahead if I sell it to CarMax since they go by Kelly Bluebook prices. I only have two weeks before the move, so I think selling it privately is going to take too long. :(
Thanks for the responses, ladies!
