I love it ... it looks like some kind of secret script!

I'll try and get a pic later, but speaking of nerdy tattoos...mine is an armband of the double helix, as in the structure of DNA. I got it after I started my Ph.D. The downside is everyone thinks I'm a regular biologist. I correct them sometimes and say "actually, I'm a neuroscientist" and then I've just proved my dorkdom and get that blank expression.

amygdala, that's funny. then they're probably like, "yeah, that's what i said, you're a biologist..." and wander off.

do the ends of the double helix join? do the bases code for anything special?

The design in the middle is an overlap of my initials -MW. It's on the small of my back. On my hip is a the flower in the right corner of this cd cover, only mine is purple.

YAY for another triple tattoo! Even more YAY for Brigit!

I'm doing a focus of Brigit worship this very month, in fact. My boyfriend is painting Her for me.

Oh, I could go on and on - like how the triple goddess was incorporated by the Catholic church through saint Bridget, the midwife to Christ and the third woman in the trinity of Irish female saints (Mary, mother of god, Ann, mother of Mary, Bridget, Midwife), and my mother's name is Mary Ann, her mother's name is Mary Ann (shortened to Marie), and her mother's name was Bridget.

Feb. 1, Imbolc and Bridget's feast day, is coming up!

i am also weird about sharing photos of mine. i have one tattoo and i love it. it's a spiral celtic knot that was designed for me by my artist, and it's in fall colors of bright red, earthy orange and gold.

it's a trinity shape with six outward scallops, to remind me of many sacred trinities - in the catholic faith and beyond. the six scallops are for the six members of my family. so it really is a symbol of god and family to me, to others, it looks like really pretty spirals.

I think everyone's tatoos are awesome. I don't have any because the thing I want would look very bad if I didn't get it done by a good tatoo artist. I wanted a mini "starry night" on my back.
My husband has a lot. He has from his wrist to elbow on the one arm, and mid tri ceps done on both. Plus a bulldog on his calf. Excuse my spelling today, I think I'm still stupid from my surgery!
