    "E-Bay" Fraud Warning

Hey Ladies~ just a little heads up, I received an e-mail from what appears to be e-bay contacting me regarding someone alledgedly using my account for fraudulent activity asking me to update my information for security purposes...because i hadn't had coffee yet or maybe i'm just stupid i followed the link and almost entered my information when i noticed the address in the browser site was not e-bay at all: http://www.xperi.se/~johnny/ebissue/Protect.html

If you get this e-mail disregard it, it's one of many many scams....

take care...off to drink my coffee...

A friend of mine got this and took it very seriously because he had his identity stolen before (by his mother - looong story) and he wrote this nasty email to Ebay and felt rather sheepish when they told him it was a scam :)

I get these types of emails all the time. You must ignore them or block them. They are all frauds.

    same same.

I get them from 'ebay' and from 'earthlink' and from 'yahoo', and sometimes from large bank names like 'citibank.' I'm not sure how the scammers manage it, but usually the real company has a pro forma response when you check it out with them so you know they deal with it a lot.

If you get an ebay one you can forward to spoof@ebay.com. Don't click on anything inside the email.
Ebay investigates and tries to stop them. You will get a comfirmation email from ebay's trust and safety department with info on what to do if you think scammers got your info.

Be very very very careful! This is what happened to my computer right before it went freakin' nuts! I ended up with 3 viruses and all my paypal money stolen. It took months to fix us, and now we have our security setting annoyingly high on my computer. I don't do too much on ebay for that reason. I hope you have an anti virus system on your computer!
