    Christo's gates

Anyone planning on seeing Christo's gates in Central Park? They'll be up from February 12 until February 27...I think I'm going to go down some time before the 27th.

Thanks for the link. I live a little far away, but I can't wait to see more pictures of the views from buildings around Central Park.

I cried when I read about the installation. I remember many of his other pieces, although I've never seen one for real.

Had some hesitation ecologically speaking when he wrapped the islands in pink although photos of it are stunning. And Mont St-Michele or whatever that French bridge is named? Wow!

I think the first I knew of him was the sort of wind fences in Northern California through the hillsides.

I've never liked this artist. Not to sound mean but this guy has always annoyed me. It also disturbs me that the legal battle for this piece took like 26 years to happen. A lot of money went into that. Is this piece of art really worth all the time and money that was invested in it?

Just not my thing. But hey, at least some people really seem to like it.

Did anyone see the news about this on msnbc? It really pissed me off. It was on thursday night but unfortunetely I don't know the name of the news reporter show it was on. I've been on msnbc's website trying to find the guy's picture so I know what his name is. He bashed the gates so badly, it gave me heartburn! I can understand that not everyone is going to love it, but he should have at least not made his report so biased on his opinon.
