    What do you collect?

I'm always interested by what things others choose to collect. I love to collect purses and once had a very extensive collection of keychains as a child.

I collect those pennies you 'smoosh' in machines at various tourist-y places...they come out stamped with a raised logo, etc. i don't know if these pennies have an actual, er, name. i just call them smashed pennies.

ETA: And magnets! From any- and every place!

    What a great post!

Collecting things is fun, but I try to keep it practical -- I have to be able to wear it or use it.

Like some of you, I also collect purses and costume jewelry (esp. brooches), but my favorite collection the one made up of 80s fast-food drinking glasses (ones made from glass, not plastic, like Star Wars, E.T., Care Bears, Ghostbusters, Goonies, Smurfs, etc.). My husband & I just can't help ourselves! They are so much fun to drink out of.

Does anyone wish they collected something? I'd love to have a variety of delicate tea cups to add a little class to my morning breakfast.

I collect unusual candleholders, and old recipe pamphlets (usually used for advertising) - the quirkier or more disgusting-looking foods, the better. i even keep them in plastic sleeves like a comic book dork, haha!

me too! me too! i have to get one wherever i go. my boyfirend also has a travel collection - little spoons...isn't that funny? he has a bazillion.

i collect paper dresses from the sixties. i am dying to get my hands on a warhol campbell's soup dress or a bob dylan.

i also collect shoes, jewelry, vintage dresses and other clothes, and purses, as well as vintage scarves...slight fashion obsession. i have about 100 pairs of shoes and wear all of them!
