Help me compile a resource list!

I am helping to host a crafty workshop at the Boston Zine Fair next month, and we wanted to make a resource list available for the major metropolitan areas in the US-- like where to buy recycled fabric, the great thrift stores, flea markets, where you pick up glue sticks, felt, googly eyes, or a length of christmas lights in July. If any of y'all can help us help others out with any tips for crafty peeps, it would be greatly appreciated! We're trying to emphasize the "reuse, recycle" aspect, but every little bit helps. I am aiming towards a general listed-by-state resource list with at least one entry for each state, and larger listings for areas where there's more going on (Chicago, Philly, etc.). Let me know where you go to prepare to get your craft on!

    Thanks!

I don't have recommendations because I'm not that crafty, but I wanted to add that it would be great to have this put online :)

(Anyone know a place to get roving near San Jose? Nearest I've found online were Berkeley or Santa Cruz, which doesn't qualify as near to me. Sadly I fear starting needle felting online...)

Here are a couple Chicago places I like. They each have a few locations, all easily found online.

    Vogue Fabrics (fabric stores)
    Brown Elephant (thrift stores)
    American Science and Surplus
    The Ark (thrift stores)
    Renegade Craft Fair (in Sept)
    Unique (thrift stores)

Thanks a lot! I definitely intend to post this on my website in a way that would allow people to add to it- kind of like everybody comparing notes on where they find cool crafty materials.

And thanks for the Chicago info! I am looking for Chicago and Philly resources in particular.
