we had ants coming in somewhere around the screens in our windows,I had heard that they wont cross baby powder. I sprinkled it in the widow around the base of the screens and they haven't come in since.

I'm going to try both the baby powder and the borax...I want the ants gone!

Excellent! Thanks Ladies! The property managers are supposed to send in an exterminator, but in the meanwhile I'll be looking into the sugar + borax tip and also the diatomaceous earth.

And yeah, at least they aren't roaches. When I lived in the Caribbean, I could never get rid of them (and they're huge junebug sized critters) so I had to put everything in the fridge. Even my plates because I got tired of having to sterilize them after opening up the cabinet and finding a big roach hanging out on my plates :P.

So, I have my borax down, so that will hopefully take care of the source in time, but for now I put down a line of baby powder all along my baseboards and backsplash...it seems to work...I've been getting a kick out of watching a couple of ants try to figure out what's going on. ;)

As a nice aside, my house smells powder-licious!
