    Favorite short-lived shows

The Sifl & Olly subplot to the "What's your catchphrase?" thread got me wondering what other great shows you guys liked that were dead before their time. Besides the aforementioned puppet show, I was very disappointed when Capitol Critters, a prime-time animated show about the mice that live in the White House, was cancelled. Of course, I was 5 at the time, so whether it was actually any good or not is up to debate. All I know is I had all the toys. I also loved The Critic when it was on, and I came to know the greatness of Futurama and Sports Night after they had been dead and buried. But enough about me. What about you?

Freaks and Geeks was on for way too short of a period for me! I would have rather followed Bill to college instead of Brandon Walsh, ya know?

I absolutely loved My So Called Life. I felt like I was Angela Chase.

The State on MTV-- I know that there is now Stella, and some of the crew are on Reno 911, but there was SO much genius about The State.

    Brimstone-- GENIUS and excellent acting.

    I know there are more...

Seconding My So- Called Life and Freaks and Geeks- there are too few really great shows about teenagers around.

    Can't forget to mention:

    Get A Life!
The Adventures of Pete & Pete
Wonderfalls (which is now being run in it's entirety on Logo)

I defenitely agree with My So Called Life, Twin Peaks (man, I never even got to see that show until it went into reruns on Scifi channel), and Futurama. And The Critic!

I also was so depressed when I was a child and Pewee's Playhouse was canceled. We all know the controversy, but man I loved that show.

Another show I loved when I was a child was the primetime version of Beauty and the Beast. My mom actually had to sit me down and tell me when one of the lead characters died, it was like a death in the family.

Oh, I totally forgot about My So-Called Life. I used to love that show too. I taped a bunch of episodes when it was still airing, but I don't know what ever happened to them.
