Hair of the dog refers to drinking a bit of booze post a night of excess. It's supposed to combat the hangover, the headache and sour stomache and furry tongue.

Personally, I find taking aspirin and a B-comp plus large amounts of water through the night help the most. And then, I'm inclined to eat a substantial breakfast.

Hee! Thanks. Yeah, if I feel really rotten, I'll take a little early-morning nip. Usually I try to eat soda crackers and drink lots of water, but that doesn't work out too well if you're at a club.

I've never tried it, generally because I never want to eat anything after I get ripped.
I eat a big iHop breakfast and smoke half a pack of cigarettes.

I have always found some tylenol, chocolate milk and a greasy brekkie to do the trick :)

Oh man...many moons ago, a GF and I would go out every Wed. for ladies night and tie one on. Make that tying several on. Sometimes we'd go out to the all night diner and people watch after the bars closed.
On the rare occasions that I actually had a headache, I'd take a couple of tylenol w/ a big glass of water, then eat my usual breakfast.....then stumble into work!!
I have no idea how I managed to function every thursday morning in those days!

Oh man, I'd get massively drunk for an excuse to eat bangers!

I always drink a tall glass of water for each drink I've had (and I don't really have more than three; my parents are alcoholics so I'm shy about alcohol anyway) and it works well.

I think the hair of the dog theory only works for hardcore alcoholics...ya know, people who get the shakes and other symptoms of withdrawal when their alcohol levels drop. It has never worked for me. A mimosa for brunch the morning after can pick me up a little or make me sleepy. But, it sure tastes yummy!
