    Funky Knitting Sites

I'm new to knitting and thought you'd all have the best ideas of where to go on the internet for inspiration, patterns, and knitting advice.

What sites to you check out?

    Thanks.

for knitting advice my favorite is http://knittinghelp.com

for good deals - http://www.knitpicks.com and for cool pattern ideas - http://www.knitty.com

that is all i can think of off the top of my head.

i never thought i was going to be able to master knitting and purling but i am really enjoying it!! :) not that i am so wonderful but i am hopeful.

i am sure others will give you more options!

A good site for a big slew of free patterns is Knitting Pattern Central:

I agree with www.knitty.com as a source of inspiration as well.

    Happy pattern hunting!

    blogs!

my favorites are (besides glampyre already mentioned):

    http://www.skinnyrabbit.com/
    http://www.figandplum.com/
    http://www.modeknit.com/blog/index.html

there are a lot of really good popular ones out there (wendyknits, crazyauntpurl, yarn harlot), but i don't read them because... i just don't. nothing negative against them. you might like them.

She's written a couple of books too.

    http://knitting.about.com for patterns on occasion.

I tend to get instruction from books mainly--I'm a big fan of Elizabeth Zimmermann and Jacqueline Fee's methods of no seaming.
