How can you be a f/a and not have a credit card? Does she have a checking account? Then why can't she send you a cheque in the post???

She sounds like a flake - and you live and learn.

Maybe give her a deadline to send a cheque - and if you don't get it by then, you'll start charging interest. (Obviously interest does no good unless she eventually pays.)

I had to learn this the hard way too when I first went away to college I made my friend a loan so she could make the first month's rent and deposit on her apartment. Infact, she totally guilted me into it with things like "What? I can't believe you think I'd stiff you!" and even though my parents warned me that friends and money don't mix I did it anyway. Long story short: I never saw my $250 again :(

I think the other suggestions that people made about possibly setting up a payment plan with her are good, and stressing that you made helping her a priority and you'd like it if she did the same. Unfortunately, after six months I don't think she's going to pay you, BUT I'm really hoping for you that she will.

I got an email from her..tonight...she says she will pay me half next week..and half the week after...time will tell.. It was never a point of loaning her money..I was just using my credit card to get a better price.. I should have had her email me the money first... I just fell into it! it felt with out risk!!! I guess I had my guard down.. People are messed up when it comes to money!!! Did people see Oprah last week.. I really appreciate everyone's comments..It just feel good to know other people have gone through this!!! I will keep you posted..

my auntie, a very smart businesswoman, once told me "money makes people funny" and this has proven to be true to me over and over again. i would forget about the money, and her "friendship" and write it off as both a loss and a lesson learned.

If you do not want to borrow money from your friends and acquaintances or take loans, then go to the site https://1xbet-sportbetting.com where, with sports betting, you raise enough money for your friends to borrow from you.

I never borrow from friends because I don't want to ruin our friendship. I also never lend money. This is my little rule that I follow throughout my life. If I need money, I'll use it payday loans in Alabama online. This is very convenient. I can leave a request on the site 24/7 and get my money in cash within the next day. I have never dealt with state-owned banks, because they take a very long time to review your credit history and give you a loan on very unfavorable terms. This is very inconvenient. I like private companies much more!
