    budget living

i LOVE budget living. i think it's hip but also retro and cool and i like the ideas, although i wish it was a little more political.

i'm interested to know what others think...

I really like this magazine, although I find this month's a little disappointing compared to others. The letter from the editor said they didn't skimp out on this one in favor of working on the book, but I'm not so sure. . .

I adore Budget Living! I get so excited whenever I see a new issue out. My most favorite article recently was the woman who lived in the miniscule apartment in NYC--it was so inspiring, especially since I'm moving to a much smaller place in August.

It has the perfect tone and style for me. Readymade is too hipper-than-thou, Dwell is too modern, and Home Companion is nice but too country. I usually open up Budget Living and salivate over it, because there's something I like on pretty much every page. I cannot wait to get my sticky little paws on the book!

I love it too!! I agree with elizaseyes, all the other magazines are "too" something, Budget Living is like Baby Bear's porridge - just right.

I agree, it has that little edge i need, like an extra shot of espresso. I liked Ready Made at first but sometimes it comes off as too "look what we came up with" as opposed to being practical and showing cool stuff to adore and use. Budget Living does a great job of achieving that. I still subscribe to RM though, I can't help it. I'm happy there are mags like this out there so I do my best to support them!

Just got my first issue and I am very dissapointed.
I was expecting REAL budget managable finds and builds.
Maybe it was just a bad first subscription month due to the work on their book?

Yes, I think it's really cool, too. I haven't read the latest issue yet.
My only complaint is that the stuff very often isn't budget at all... but I guess it's more budget than most other magazines! I want more crafty stuff, too! So I guess two complaints...

I wish someone would come out with a COOL craft magazine that was 90% crafts/artist profiles. There are gobs of craft mags out there but they all seemd geared towards scrapbooking soccer moms. I guess you could get inspired by the ideas and conform them to your own style. But still, wouldn't that be great to have? Not quite like Ready Made though...
