    Miss M~

That's hilarious! I can totally relate. My husband and I went to Ireland last year and asked my dad what he wanted as a souvenir.... an Irish scratch off ticket, of course! He has it on his refrigerator.

These are great ideas. I think about Christmas gifts year round... I know where some of you are, it is starting to cool off and turn to fall... but it was 95 degrees in Dallas today, which makes the Christmas spirit that much more difficult to find. I have a box in my studio that is for gifts, and anytime I make something that I have always wanted to make, but don't have room for in my house, it goes into the box. Anytime I need a gift, that is the first place I go. I also put interesting sale items that I find in the box.

Marcie, I really like your idea of filling a box all year long!

My Dad is a model railroad buff. Several years ago, my older son and I went to a shop that sells such things and bought him a bunch of tiny people, animals, trees, and various ground covers, etc. for his huge train table. He really loved it!

I was thinking this year we could construct a papier mache Matterhorn for his train table, as his father was born in Switzerland. :D
Hmmmm....I wonder if I can find tiny mountain climbers? LOL

I'm not crafty enough to actually make something for my dad, so I'm buying him the new red Nintendo DS Lite bundle that comes with Brain Age 2. He travels on planes a lot and likes that kind of mind-puzzle stuff, so that's what he's getting (he also bought my stepmom a Wii for Mother's Day, so I figure he'd appreciate a teeny tiny Wii).

Of course, I'm going to have to save and save and save for it, but I think it'll be worth it.

I've found a really good gift for anyone, esp dads because they are so damn difficult to buy for, is finding old fashioned hard back books that have really nice front covers, taking out the middles and putting in notepaper instead. You can nail holes through the spine and tie them up with strong wire to hold them together. I use the old pages of the book to decoupage bookcases and coffee tables!

If not, chocolate always goes down well, as does a really good bottle of whiskey... But I personally think I'll be making a record clock this year, fantastic idea there!

    Guinness,
You can buy DS's at Gamestop that are slightly used but come with a warranty for pretty inexpensive! They also have sales all the time on used games and bundles. You might try there to save a bit of money!

Its so nice dear as your father in law is in music
line. then you can gift him something related to the
music . As some books related to it . or some equipment
of music . I think he will surely like it . if you do not
have much knowledge about about music you can learn
    from google
