    Hi everyone! Thanks so much for the comments. I used Tacky Glue and it holds very well. You just have to make sure that it dries really well before you put the gemstones on the tree. I let mine dry overnight. I was very generous with the Tacky Glue on the base. Even the tree with the swirl roots is firmly held in place because the glue held so well. I was shocked at how well simple Tacky Glue holds. I also like that it dries clear. My only suggestion is to use PLENTY of glue and you shouldn't have any problems.
