Felt Scarf on Crafters Coast to Coast

I just saw this on HGTV:

    http://www.hgtv.com/hgtv/cr_accessor...231364,00.html

Does anyone on here know her? I just wanted to say good job, that is a cool project that I am going to try soon.
    Freaking Awesome!!
because 1- I love NY, and 2- I love Scarves (I live in Chicago).

Anyone else have a craft on that show?

I just joined this board, now I have a job where I can read it at work :) yay!

I just looked at her link... those scarves are great! Does anyone have experience with that kind of felting (as opposed to just knitting something and then felting it)? I saw the instructionson the HGTV, but they didn't seem thorough enough to make me feel like I could follow them and end up with something that even halfway looked like it should. Is it very difficult? Any books to recommend? I'd love to start experimenting with this!

    thanks, lexlandra

    she answers some good questions.

It actually doesn't look too too hard. *and I shy away from hard stuff*

malinka, someone on glitter just posted a link to the Homestead Wool and Gift Farm as where she purchased wool for spinning. On the site it says it can be used for felting projects, too. Someone that's actually felted before will probably be much more helpful, but check that link out... And let me know if you start felting!

http://www.outbackfibers.com/index.htm also looks like a good place to get felting supplies. I like that they have a felting kit and mixed bags of different colors. I'm this _____ close to putting in an order. They also have instructions on that site that make it seem easier than you’d think. Felting looks like it’d be fun.

I did some felting in a Fibers class I took in college.

It wasn't all that difficult... just takes some practice.

Those scarves she makes are BEAUTIFUL. I spent some time on SuperMaggie's site and I had a blast looking at everything.

    :)

If you do some felting, post pics! I wanna see!
