    tags / labels

i've been embroidering my name on everything i've been making lately, and i'm kinda tired of it. anyone know where i can get gasp premade, personalized tags? similar to the "made with love by grandma" style ones, but perhaps smaller, and ... personalized? an online source would be especially awesome.

Since you are going custom anyhow, why not see if a local machine embroiderer will run up a bunch for you? Lots of people buy the equipment and then run out of things to do with it.

i remember when i started going to camp my mom bought me this huge roll of this sort of ribbon with my name on it about a hundred million times so that she could cut right after my name and sew it onto my clothing. does that make any sense? i'm not sure where to find it though, i'm sure it's in some children's catalogues somewhere... i'll do some research

I've never ordered but this was a site I found when I was looking for some recently...

I'm still on the embroidery kick since my machine will do it for me.

Or, you can use iron-on transfer paper to just iron a label on. You could even iron it onto some ribbon and then sew the ribbon on.

You can also have a rubber stamp made up at your local stationary store, either of artwork (like your signature or logo) or simply your name. There are stamp pads where the ink can be used on fabric then heat set with an iron so they are permanent.

Or, at the fabric store, you can get labelling pens or a labelling pen with iron on tape. Depends on how tidy you are able to manage to write on fabric...
