    clear glass ornaments

I bought a dozen clear glass ornaments after Christmas to do "something " with. I am terrible at free hand drawing or painting so those are not an option for me. Anybody have any other suggestions? Thanks

I bought some on clearance that were icicle shaped. I used the glass painting stuff stocked nearby and drizzled an iridescent crystal paint into. Looked milky for a couple of days, but dried to clear and sparkly.

I also did some mardi gras colored ones for my sister where i put in a couple squirts each of gold, purple and lime then turned and swirled. Again, murky-milky until they dried and then the colors were clearish with a nice marbled effect.

I've heard of a snowflake treatment with epsom salts and beer that's supposed to hold up.

You can also fill them with pretty things like beads, sparkly papers and anything else that will fit through the top. You can also etch designs by taping off areas and applying etching cream. Have fun!

Have you seen the bulbs where you cut a transparency film that just fits inside measurements of bulb-roll it on a pencil and slip in.
Here are a few poor pictures of ones that I did.

not really my schtick, but i've seen them filled with potpourri. then they could be a year - round thing. or squeezing a fake daisy in there - the base would be small enough to get in there but the petals would use up a lot of the interior. haven't tried it, tho. just popped in my head.

    Hi MRSM103
Here is a site with lots of photo of others that people have done.
I made mine with ink jet printer transparency. I used photo's of my grandkids or clip art that I had on my computer.
Others have used their rubberstamps-I need to try them. I think there is just a plain transparency that you can use (like for a overhead projecter if you are using inks and sharpie pens to do your coloring)
You will need to play with plain paper to get the exact inside side of you glass bulb-then I used a circle cutter to cut them.

    Snowflake Ornaments

I did that around Christmas time...I went crazy and bought a bunch, and gave them out for Christmas gifts. It depends on the shape of the glass ornament what you can do with it, of course.

Hah, it's the only picture I've uploaded so far. Silly me...
