    man crafts

Hi there! I'm going to a family party and I want to make earrings for the
women, is there something similarly small and easy to make for the dudes?

I imagine you could do some found objecty cuff links... shouldn't be hard to make at all, and you could use just about anything in place of the standard buttons...

might do that myself, come to think of it :)

or tie tacks! cuff links you make two--tie tacks you make one! And it's just like making earrings if you make post-style ones!

keychains? i don't personally have any men in my life that use tietacks or cufflinks, myself. crafting for men is always so hard. i always make gifts for my mom and sister at christmasttime, but it's always really hard to figure out something to make for my dad and husband - there's only so many beanies a guy needs. it's even hard for me to come up with ideas for my son, though he's a bit easier to please.

interested in seeing some good manly crafts myself!

You probably don't want to make tons of these, so sorry aspiring for the slight hijack, but I made a book safe for my dad. It's a manly craft that was fun to do.

Well, my man likes both making and receiving candles; you could go for the spicier scents like cinnamon. There's also wallets, or spare change holders, my dad always dumped out his change into a container.

Selah, a book safe? Do you have any pictures or instructions? I'd love to learn how to do that!

Yeah guys are tough to craft for. A book safe is a good idea. I have "issues" with altered book crafts, even when they're mass produced crappy books, because I'm an archivist-librarian! Neurotic I know, and nobody would destroy a rare book for a craft project, right? I do love altered books though...and a book safe is a fun thing to have around!

Keychains sound great too! Maybe everyone should get one, and I could trash the earrings plan altogether. Sure candles, too! Or wallets, a la duct tape....thanks, so many great ideas to ponder and see what supplies I have in my stash!

    Handmade coasters?

I've also seen manly body stuff recipes, like aftershave made with vodka and whatnot

I made duct tape wallets a couple christmases for all the men in my life. The dads seemed to especially love them, but so did the brothers. You can't really go wrong with duct tape crafts.
