Do you sign your crafts? use tags?
I'm wondering if the crafters out there are signing their work? Alot of mine is wooden plaques or painted rocks, so It'd be easy enough to sign the back. But what if your craft doesn't allow it? Do you use tags for sewing projects, or attach small tags? I'm stumped on a few items that don't seem likely to sign. I added signatures to crafts that I gave away as gifts, but I'm not so sure about the crafts I'm trying to sell.
My momma says it adds value! I always do what Momma says.
But really, without a cert. of authenticity...anyone could've signed it. Elvis could've signed it. How many times have you turned over a ceramic jar and saw DeeAnn 1974, or Barbara 1988?

my latest stuff that i would consider original (i.e. not from someone else's pattern, which I obv. wouldn't tag as mine) has been sewing. i have little sew-in name tapes that I use on anything that I am going to sell or give away. usually if something is for me, i'm too lazy to put in the tag!

i always sign my crafts I sitch my initials or my trademark in he botom of the sewing objects created from scratch by me. or sign it if it is a painting on wood or card.

I just got custom woven labels here: http://www.heirloomlabels.com/
I knit a lot of stuff for myself and I like having a tag. But I do harbor fantasies of selling my stuff eventually, and the tags will be good for that too.
I just had black and white ones with the name of my web site (Step Into My Thimble) made. They aren't too expensive.

Yep, I've decided that the final step in any of my project will be: sign it. As a friend of mine said "why not sign it?" um, I guess it seemed soooo first grade, u know? But I'm quite proud of my stuff and signing feels right.
