will it bleed?
going to embroider some of my son's pants for my daughter. will red (standard DMC) embroidery floss bleed onto the fabric? (never embroidered anything that i've had to wash before....)

DMC has never bled when I have used it. I have washed complicated, very colourful embroidered projects before framing and I have never had a problem. But that is different from, say, on white pants of a young child that will be washed every week!
If you're worried, rinse some under warm water and see if the ink bleeds. Also, I think you can wash it in vinegar to set the dye, but others might know more about this.
DMC is pretty high-quality IMHO. I would just do it without testing.
no it won't
No it won't bleed. I've embroidered lots of white baby onesies, and the embroidery floss doesn't bleed on them.
thanks so much! it will be either applique or couching on some olive cotton pants that the boy never really wore.... just wanted to make sure before i spend time on something that wouldn't survive the first wash.
