    homemade christmas gifts

My family told me the other day that the only christmas gifts they could accept from me (because my really lousy economy) were homemade ones, and since I love knitting I thought that I could knit gifts for everyone! The thing is that I have nooooo idea what to knit! Does any else have any ideas?

you could make lace tablerunners, if you wanted to depart from knitting you could make chunky beaded necklaces and bracelets, or some homemade jams and relishes.

I've wanted to do soaps for some time now but it seems difficult. Have you tried it? Or do you know any good websites with tips?

along with the jam/relish idea... if that seems too "hard" for you, you can always do jar mixes. here's one site:
