    washing felt

OK. so i'm all set to do some applique on some shirts. i've got some pieces of "regular" craft felt. how will it wash? planning on glueing it on with some fabrictac then embroidering.... just don't want to go all out on something for it to disintegrate in the wash!

I believe commercial craft felt gets "fluffier" when you wash and dry it. why not prewash it like you would any other fabric? I appliqued sweaters with craft felt and washed them on delicate, then air-dried them and they were fine, no change in felt.
